Choir rehearsal tool

Learn your choir part faster.

Practice your voice part with a multitrack player that lets you mute, solo, and balance the other voices.

Gebruik de repetitie om muziek te maken โ€” niet om noten te leren.

Why Voxy was created.

As a choir director, I noticed a recurring pattern. Members were asked to prepare certain sections at home โ€” study the notes, practice their part. Often using ad-hoc recordings made during rehearsal on a smartphone.

But at the next rehearsal, the results weren't quite what we hoped for.

"Yes, I practiced, and when I sing alone it sounds fine โ€” but here, with all the other voices, I can't find my notes anymore."

The problem isn't the effort. It's the method. Practicing in isolation doesn't prepare you for singing in a group.

Into the harmony, step by step

In Voxy you start with only your own voice part switched on. Then you gradually introduce the other parts using the volume sliders. The process is complete when all voices are on, your own part is muted โ€” and you can still sing it correctly.

This trains your ear to find and hold your part within the full harmonic context โ€” exactly what you need during rehearsal.

1

Start alone

Switch on only your voice part. Practice until it feels solid.

2

Add voices

Bring in the other parts one by one at low volume.

3

Full ensemble

All voices on, your part muted. You sing it from memory.

Works offline

Voxy is a Progressive Web App. After the first visit it works without internet. Practice on the train, in the car, anywhere.

Instead of struggling to find your notes during rehearsal, practise your part at home and hear how it fits with the choir.

Whether you sing soprano, alto, tenor, or bass, you can practise your part against the rest of the choir.

Three steps to get started

Voxy for your choir

Voxy is free to use as the app is still in development. Setting up the app is a one-time fee of โ‚ฌ50 โ€” this includes creating your app and admin account, including a live instructional call with your choir admin if needed.

๐Ÿ’ก Wil je de audiotracks niet zelf aanmaken? Arno kan dat voor je regelen als losse dienst.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Heb je een bugrapport of een idee? We horen het graag.

I am a choir director and software developer. I built Voxy because I experienced the rehearsal problem firsthand, in my own choir.

This is not an app built for the sake of building an app. It is a solution to a real, recurring frustration I witnessed with my own eyes.
